Weingut Reverchon

The Reverchon wine estate was acquired from the church by the family Staadt in 1685. Ever since 1921 it belongs to the family Edmund Reverchon.
The size of the planted vineyards includes 10 hectares – with the ‘Filzener Herrenberg’ as the most renowned vineyard of the Saar region, where mainly Riesling (85%) is and has been cultivated. The wine estate has a great reputation in Germany and abroad.

The present manager of the estate since 2007 is Hans Maret and regards himself as a modern Saar traditionalist. He continues growing mainly Riesling, the grapes with an important history of the estate. The cellars and the house have been renovated and modernized; prerequisite for efficient production. “We feel obliged to fully meet our customers highest requirements in the quality of our wines.”

Especially the Filzener Herrenberg that belongs exclusively to the estate is well known for a great terroir producing charming wines of slim filigree and slate marked white wines with rich citrus and apricot aromas and very harmonious acidity. The top quality Rieslings of the Filzener Herrenberg are produced and presented in different qualities and are mainly dry wines. The 2007 vintages of Reverchon house wines Saar Riesling, Riesling Kabinett dry and Old Vines as well as the dry Pinot Blanc are offered in top quality, each varietal with over 10,000 bottles per year. With Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir Rosé in addition, our program is rounded off.
